Bridge to Everywhere in the LA Times: LA Phil’s Noon to Midnight

We’re proud to appear in the LA Times review of the LA Phil’s 2024 Noon to Midnight festival, a 12-hour celebration of new music across the Walt Disney Concert Hall campus.

On November 16, 2024, the LA Phil presented Noon to Midnight: Field Recordings, a 12-hour new-music festival with live performances and art installations throughout the Walt Disney Concert Hall campus. Pulitzer Prize–winning composer Ellen Reid curated this edition around the theme of field recordings, bringing together more than 35 composers and a wide range of Los Angeles–based ensembles and solo artists. The day built toward the world premiere of Doug Aitken’s Lightscape, performed by the LA Phil New Music Group and the Los Angeles Master Chorale.

Bridge to Everywhere was part of the day, performing [piece/program] in [venue, e.g., BP Hall / Keck Amphitheater]. We were honored to be included in Mark Swed’s review for the Los Angeles Times, which features a photo of [description of the photo, e.g., “our ensemble performing in BP Hall”], taken by Carlin Stiehl.

In his review, Swed describes a festival that, like the sounds of the city it explored, wouldn’t fit neatly into one category. Being part of a day so focused on deep listening and on the sounds of place matched the spirit of our own work: [one sentence about Bridge’s mission or this performance].

Thank you to the LA Phil, Ellen Reid, and everyone who came out to listen.
