Jacqueline Marshall
Harp
Harpist Jacqueline Marshall’s two dogs consider her most impressive accomplishment to be her patented belly rub, but others are more impressed by her hundreds of LA Phil performances, her recordings for Deutsche Grammophon, and her appearance at Coachella for an audience of more than 90,000 people.
Jacqueline frequently leaves the house—an act not authorized by her canine superiors—in order to record music for movies and television, including Disney’s Encanto, Disney/Pixar’s Luca, Glee, the MTV Movie & TV Awards, America’s Got Talent, and Rod Stewart’s PBS Christmas Special.
Jacqueline’s classical recordings—which include several albums with Gustavo Dudamel and the LA Phil, including the Grammy Award-winning Charles Ives: Complete Symphonies and the first commercial recording of Lou Harrison’s opera Young Caesar—are considered “howl-ably delightful” by the most important critics in her life. Jacqueline received a B.A. and M.M. from UCLA, a P.S.D. from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and has audited numerous courses in Sit, Stay, Lie Down.
Jacqueline’s recent endeavor to study the obokano, the Kenyan lyre of the Gusii people, and the West African kora has been met with somewhat more enthusiasm from her opinionated pooches.
In her free time, Jacqueline runs a multi-instrument, multi-species, multi-generational household, with family members ranging in age from 5 months to 85 years.
